The goal of this course is to provide inquisitive, self-directed students with an appreciation of the complexity of biological systems. The emphasis is top-down, beginning with a condition, moving toward explication of the underlying biochemical, cell biological, and molecular biological mechanisms. Topics will be integrated with other courses, such as genetics, evolution, ecology, economics, etc. A minimum grade of "C" (2.0 or above) must be earned in this course before it can be counted in a biological science major or minor or as a prerequisite for any other biology course. (Fall - Even Years, Summer) [Graded (Standard Letter)] Prerequisite(s): BIOL 3060 and satisfactory completion of the ETS Major Field Exam - Prerequisite Min. Grade: C Prerequisite:    BIOL 3060
